“Toto” is not only the band performing “Africa". Born and raised in Hungary to Vietnamese parents and now based in Switzerland, he’s a combination of Eastern European melancholy, Asian parents’ expectations and far too much energy.
With quick wit, expressive physicality and sharp writing, Toto turns cultural clashes, personal contradictions and everyday frustrations into playful, high-energy stand-up.

About me
Hi Friends, I’m Toto
I was born and raised in Hungary to Viet parents (aka Viet Kieu), spent a few years living in London and somehow ended up in Switzerland - so I’ve spent most of my life figuring out where I belong.
I started doing stand up comedy during COVID (not during the lockdown, of course not!) and absolutely fell in love with it. The photo on the left is from those early days 🙂
Since then I’ve performed a couple of hundred shows, mostly in Switzerland as well as in London, Paris, Budapest, Warsaw, and other cities in the world.
I’m trying my best to make my comedy tight, energetic, it usually involves sarcasm, physicality and unnecessarily strong reactions to everyday things. I talk about modern life, the clashes of the cultures I’ve lived in between, and contradictions that I seem to create for myself.
Right now I’m working on longer sets, exploring more of the things I find funny and hopefully taking my comedy to more cities.
